Inspired by the earlier Bling Bling medallion, Tjep layers the wheels and gears of clockwork to form the hearts that make up a new series of pendants and timepieces. Other symbolic elements include wings and flames, all part and parcel of the
complicated mechanism of emotion. Clockwork Love is an expression of wishful thinking, but we all know love

Not to fear – this clock doesn’t actually have a man trapped inside – instead a flatscreen plays a 24 hour loop video loop by the artist painstakingly erasing and re-writing each minute. This video was taken at Design Miami during Art Basel Miami Beach 2009. This may finally dispel any doubts about the man in the moon.

Reflecting the duality and unity of the sleep/wake cycle, Swedish designer Henrik Amberla has popped up an innovative alarm clock that looks more like a piece of art than a timepiece. The Milky Way, as the designer hails his alarm clock, is an illustration of a turning motion that triggers the snooze function. The Milky Way features another turning motion, which let the users set time and alarm on its (possibly) reflective surface, without hampering the smooth and sleek design of the clock.

If the Good Afternoon Clock was a revolutionary timepiece, then how would you describe the latest wall clock by the Biergert & Funk? Called the “QLOCKTWO,” this handmade clock drawing inspiration from crossword puzzle replaces the relatively complex numbers and hands with words and spells the time on the colored surface, so even kids could figure out the time without any calculations. At the moment, the clock comes embedded with German and English fonts to spell the time, which could possibly be extended to other languages by adding the required software of a particular language. The QLOCKTWO is available in a variety of color options, and can be yours for €1099 ($1600) only!

If you are worried about your kid’s poor performance in mathematics, you possibly would love to place the “Math Equation Clock” in his or her study room. For the clock presents an equation for each hour of the day, and require the user to solve the variable, which is equal to the current hour, to find out the correct time. Featuring a face finished with a laser etched DVD, mounted on a recycled acrylic stand, the innovative clock integrates a classic 5 1/4 inch floppy disk for the dark background, giving a geeky look to the gadget. You may order the Math Equation Clock (here) for $15 only.
