Motivated by the playground where children work or learn while playing, the “Official Playground” is a playful closet that provides personal space for work and meetings. Made in steel, chrome and plastic, the playground for adults features different levels that double as storage for your books/documents and other objects, separating interior from the outer space. Users need to climb on top of the playground to participate in high level meetings, which keeps them fit and increases their work productivity.

Bringing back memories from a sweeter childhood, here is a Pop Up Office made of cardboard, by Liddy Scheffknecht and Armin B. Wagner, Cool – though unlikely to withstand the Big Bad Wolf – or heavier employees.

Designed in response to the increasing need of adjustable private spaces within open offices, the “Eclipse Office Partition System” by Australian designer Marcus Ward Curran is a modular workplace that can evolve and adapt as the needs of privacy and interaction change during the course of the day. Revolving around current office trends of hot desks, just in time furniture and distributed possession, the modular system allows a flexible and pro-active work environment. The Eclipse Partition System consists of four main components; hot desk, pattern table, table partition and full size partition. Each component of the system, when used in conjunction, allows space to be divided into a meeting area, a private space or a breakout zone. Yet these components are movable and flexible, allowing freedom of layout when privacy requirements change.

Encompassing eco-sense principles of respect for the environment and sustainability, the Eclipse Partition System features components to that work together to make more efficient use of space with eco-friendly materials to allow design for disintegration and recycling. Incorporated technology of e-ink allows users to personalize space using immersion of visual stimuli to become a more efficient and productive working environment. After 6 years and millions of dollars in R&D, Herman Millers highly anticipated office chair, the Embody, finally hit the market in the start of 2009 mu

ch to the delight of office ninjas around the world.  The Embody builds upon the massive success of its predecessor, the Aeron ergonomic office chair, which 14 years ago began allowing workaholics to spend their entire weekends sitting at their desks without developing serious back injuries.

The chair was designed by the late Bill Stumpf along with Jeff Weber, and features a remarkable 4 layer seat cushion, of which one layer has 93 interconnected plastic hexagon discs, or “pixels”, which move independently as the person sitting in it shifts their weight around.

The Herman Miller office chair comes in 13 colors and three finishes, and sells for as low as $1,495.

Son, since you’ve been so good in school this year and done all your chores I’ve decided to get you an iPod- notepad. “Dad you suck”. “Work on your penmanship, kid. Here’s an expensive pen I’ll give you as a gift that you’ll never use”. “Thanks Dad. Mommmmmm, can I get an iPod? Puhhlease.”

Really as far as notebooks good, these are pretty freakin’ cool. Look, I wrote my own app- it’s called Tic-Tac-Toe. I’m going to be a paper app store Apple millionaire. Here’s another free app for your Notepod called “shopping list”. I’m still working in my Doodle app. Ok, I guess if you really were an application designer, you could sketch out some ideas on these but what about the rest of us?

Structure of Architectural Furniture was designed by Toshihiko Suzuki for Kenchikukagu for small space living in Japan and anywhere else where square footage is at a premium. The three designs open up to reveal a kitchen, an office and a bedroom. One of the Architectural Furniture designs is actually available on Amazon; the home office is sold for about $8,767, which is one pricey desk, chair, shelves and drawers. No word on the other two designs availability at this time.
