If you want your one-time TV hanging experience to be as smooth as possible or if you have a habit of bolting down fire escapes in the middle of the night, then Samsung’s recently-unveiled 3.3 millimeter thick 40-inch LED TV might be right up your alley.

There’s not a whole lot of info other than that the TV contains a 40-inch, 120Hz panel, a total thickness of just 3.3 millimeters, and a contrast ratio of 5000:1 – pricing and availability (and weight) are unknown, although Akihabara reports that Samsung is looking to get the TV on the market as soon as possible.

We’re not at all clear what, if any difference, exists between Samsung’s new XL2370 monitor and the $399 P2370L announced back in January. Both are 23-inch LED backlit members from Samsung’s “Touch of Color” lineup sporting a 2ms response and 1080p resolution. The XL2370 claims an ambiguous “finger-slim” design sounding very much like the 0.65-inch depth of the P2370L. The only hard difference is the stated increase in dynamic contrast ratio from 2M:1 (P2370L) to 5M:1 — a pointless distinction most likely rooted in competitive hyperbole rather than any visible distinction you’d see in your home office. Regardless, the XL2370 will carry the title of Samsung’s “highest performance monitor” (which is saying something) when it ships to Korea in mid-July on the way to its European and “other parts of the world” debut in August.

Samsung has a heart for the environment by releasing two more eco-friendly LCD displays in Korea, and they hail from the SyncMaster 70 series with 20″ and 23″ sizes to choose from . These LCD displays will come with ToC (Touch of Color) Design and are sip up to 33% less energy compared to average LCDs in the industry. Apart from its power-saving feature, there isn’t really anything else we know about these two models apart from its contrast ratio of 50,000 to 1 and a 2ms response time.

If all you want is an eco-friendly phone loaded with advanced features, this one should be an improvement over what’s out on the market today. Called the Samsung Clover, it boasts “four different module interfaces that keeps it upgraded with the latest in technology — vision, location, sound and sensor, cater.” Click here for first picture in gallery.
