The 4800 Watt Table

A coffee table with a base made from repurposed 400 watt street lamps by Upupa Studio. The street lamp has got its second life in the tea table design. Upupa Studio artists took advantage of perfection of the form, transparent glass and artful combination of spirals to create the elegant and light object and to keep its solidity.

Toby Howes‘ Escher Coffee Table, inspired by one of Escher’s bird & fish tessellation sketches. “Each of the three walnut inlaid arcs slide out to become side tables in their own right, leaving the central zebrano piece to become more & more sculptural as each arc is removed.”
